Agentic and AI-first platforms

AI is not a feature you bolt on. It is an architecture decision that changes how systems think, adapt and deliver value. We build AI-first platforms designed around the problem, not the hype — agentic systems that act within defined guardrails, LLM integrations that compress hours of analysis into seconds, and retrieval-augmented generation that makes your proprietary data genuinely useful.

We build AI that works in production, not just in a pitch deck, and we know where it accelerates responsibly and where it creates risk. In regulated environments that judgement is the difference between a proof of concept and a platform your firm can answer for — which is why the assurance controls go in as we build, not after.

Industries we serve

Financial services, life sciences, legal, insurance, manufacturing, logistics and professional services — any sector where domain expertise meets data complexity.

Who this is for

Organisations that want AI to deliver measurable outcomes, not a chatbot on the homepage. Teams in regulated or high-stakes environments where reliability, explainability and data governance are non-negotiable.

Bespoke platforms and products

We build software tailored to your specific problem. From architecture to deployment, every decision is made for your context, your constraints and your users. We work across modern stacks — Rust, Python, TypeScript and others — choosing the right tools for the problem, not the other way around. That includes product engineering for founders taking a first product to market, and the engines and domain platforms other products are built on, as well as internal systems.

Integration is where most projects fail, so we treat it as part of the build, not an afterthought: data flows, APIs, authentication, monitoring and deployment, so that what we build works in the environment it has to work in. In production, not in a demo.

What this looks like

Graph databases. Real-time data processing engines. Domain-specific platforms. Code conversion tools. Systems that do one thing exceptionally well, built from first principles and wired cleanly into what you already run.

Who this is for

Organisations that have tried off-the-shelf solutions and found them lacking. Teams that need something purpose-built but do not have the in-house expertise to build it themselves.

Web and mobile applications

Customer-facing sites and apps, built to the same production standard as everything else we ship. The front end is where your customers meet the system, so it gets the same engineering as the parts they never see.

In practice that means a design system rather than a set of screens, accessibility built in from the start, analytics you can rely on, app store release handled, and hosting and monitoring in scope. Launch is not where the engagement ends.

Legacy replacement

Legacy systems are not legacy because they are old. They are legacy because they cannot change. They have accumulated layers of workaround, undocumented behaviour and technical debt until the cost of living with them exceeds the cost of replacing them.

We help organisations assess, plan and execute the modernisation of ageing technology — whether that means rebuilding from scratch, converting codebases to modern languages, or incrementally replacing components while the business continues to run. The technology stack is chosen to fit the problem, not the other way around.

For C and C++ estates where memory safety is the reason to move, see C and C++ to Rust below.

What this looks like

Legacy code assessment and conversion. Platform re-architecture. Incremental replacement strategies. Migration from mainframe, COBOL, C or ageing Java estates to modern stacks. Technology due diligence and roadmapping.

Who this is for

Organisations running critical systems on technology that is increasingly expensive to maintain, difficult to recruit for, or unable to meet current regulatory and performance requirements. Teams that know they need to move but cannot afford to break what is already running.

C and C++ to Rust

Memory-safety bugs account for a large share of serious vulnerabilities in C and C++ code. We rewrite the risky parts in Rust behind the existing C interface, so your callers keep working while that class of bug goes away.

The work is incremental: one module at a time, behind the interface you already have, each verified against the original before the next begins. The full case, and the open-source libraries we have built this way, are on the Software page.

The Gordion approach.

Understand first

We spend time understanding the real problem before writing a line of code. The best solution often looks nothing like the brief.

AI-native delivery

We use AI throughout our engineering practice — spec-driven workflows, AI-assisted code generation and context engineering. This is how a small team delivers at the pace and scale of a much larger one.

Ship and support

We deliver production-ready systems, not prototypes. Deployment, monitoring and handover are part of the engagement, not an afterthought.
